The opposition party has supported the proposal to make a respected person, Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, the speaker of the parliament in the first session of the parliament. The opposition party also said that the government party could have talked to the opposition party before doing so.

The first session of the 13th Parliament began at 11 am on Thursday in the Parliament Chamber of the National Parliament Building.

On behalf of the opposition, Deputy Leader of the Opposition, MP Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher also supported the proposal. However, addressing the Prime Minister, he said in the parliament that the government could have talked to the opposition before making a universally respected person the Speaker of the parliament.
