The jungles of Chittagong are known as the dark world of multiple forces, including the Yasin and Rokon forces. Although there were multiple forces in previous governments, after the fall of the Awami League government, more than three thousand hill settlements are under the control of these two forces. Bodies are falling one after another in the conflict between these two forces.
A joint force has launched a 24-hour operation in Chattogram since dawn to suppress terrorists and recover illegal weapons in the Salimpur jungle. Members of the police, RAB, army and other law enforcement agencies have been conducting operations in different areas of the district since 5 am on Monday.
Law enforcement officials said that about 2,000 law enforcement officers from across the district are involved in the operation in the Jangal Salimpur area of Sitakunda Upazila.
There have been allegations of terrorists, weapons hoarding and criminals hiding in this mountainous and remote area for a long time. This operation was launched in a planned manner based on intelligence information after several recent incidents.
Law enforcement sources said that members have been divided into several teams to conduct the operation. One team is searching the settlements below the hill, while another team is moving up the hill along the path. Checkpoints have been set up in advance on the possible escape routes of the criminals, so that no one can leave the area after receiving news of the operation.
