Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram has been elected as the Speaker of the 13th National Parliament. He was elected as the Speaker through a voice vote in the first session of the parliament on Wednesday.
Earlier, President Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain said that he had received only one nomination for the election of the Speaker of the National Assembly. He is BNP Standing Committee member and MP Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed. The President said that he agreed to fulfill this responsibility. Later, he called on MP Nurul Islam to raise the motion. He raised the motion. MP Rakibul Islam supported the motion.
